How To Get Over 1 Million Views On A TikTok

I finally cracked the code on one of my TikToks, reigning in over 1,000,000 views and over 35,000 likes.

Before this, I had been hitting a wall, stuck at 200-300 views for quite some time.

So first things first - if you’re stuck at 200-300 views, you don’t need to burn your account and start over. One of my friends who works for TikTok said you don’t ever get categorized as a non-viral account - and this proved to be true in my experience.

Second - when starting off - ONLY follow accounts relevant to your niche or the kind of content you’re planning on posting. This is because your For You page will start to feed you with ideas and inspiration, making video generation incredibly easy for you. Additionally - this signals to TikTok what space you’re in and the kinds of videos you’re going to be making.

For this 500K+ Video, I found the text from a similar video on my for you page, and it really resonated with me. So I took the text and laid it over a video of myself eating and added a trending sound.

I made sure the video was short - five seconds - so that while the audience is reading the text, the video is looping in the background, signaling high watch time to the algorithm which will blow up your video.

When it comes to trending sounds - ideally you want to pick one that’s been used between 50K and 500K times and has the red (popular) icon next to it. This is because this is the sweet spot where you can tell a sound is popular but it hasn’t quite popped off fully on TikTok yet.
